Cancer and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy: Cancer can increase the predisposition to TCM through various pathways. Cancer produces an emotional stress response as well as physical/surgical stressors from the disease. The paraneoplastic mediators along with the chronic inflammatory state is another risk factor.
